post #1 A little about me

I live a simple, yet blessed life.

This is where the magic first started...
The year was 1989 when this long curly haired guy just showed up on my doorstep.
literally,  that's what happened.
well, sorta.   It was a set up ( that I wasn't even aware of)

We hit it off immediately!
26+ years later we are more then man and wife,  we are still best friends.

The key to our relationship..
We don't expect perfection and we accept each others flaws.
and he tolerates my obsessive need to change and rearrange things.

These lovely ladies are our beautiful daughters.

These cuties grew up on my blogs.

It's hard to believe that we've reached this stage in our lives where our girls are both adults.
( I don't like it)

Besides spending time with my family,  my favorite thing to do is cruise the bay on my paddleboard .
Early mornings are my favorite..
when it's just me and the sea
.... and Darla.

Like the girls,  Darla grew up over night too.
The sweet little boston terrier puppy that I received for Valentines day is now a 12.5 yr old lady dog.
Darla loves to paddleboard with her mama.
Since she has lost her hearing and is suffering from cancer in her leg muscles,
I made her a little basket so now she can just relax and enjoy the ride.

She is the most chill little creature ever!!

Once summer ends and my days on the paddleboard are limited,
then it's time to get my Halloween on.
I love Halloween!
This year I created my first Halloween magazine which includes some of my favorite spooky recipes and decorations.   I'm excited to start sending them out to some of my halloween loving friends.

I haven't worked a real job in a few years but I was lucky enough to find a way to make extra money and have a great time doing it by teaching paint nights.

The projects we make are pretty simple.
There are always a few people who get discouraged and think that they can't do it.
My favorite part of the class is when those same people proudly leave with a big smile and their finished projects in hand.

As I am still deciding on a format for this new blog,  I do know that i plan to share some of life's events,  some of my favorite projects and recipes,
and lots and lots of photos along the way.

Thank you for visiting,  I look forward to reconnecting with old friends and making lots of new blog friends

  2. It was fun reading about you! (and some of your interests) I knew you liked paddle boarding, in fact, you come to mind every time I'm near the lake and look out and see paddle boarders here!
I knew you like Shark week. I'm not sure what the fascination is with that...but my grand son loves Sharks, I don't think hes aware there is a whole week dedicated to them. Sssshhh! don't tell him.
I DID NOT know you teach painting classes! I would be the one who thinks she couldn't do it. (the perfectionism in most people, well, in me anyway)
    this was fun!
I'll be back to read more. Hope you get it all figured out and have a rekindled passion for blogging. ;)

  3. Leslie, I'm so glad you're back! I love your new place, too! I was in the same boat about whether to keep blogging or not. I even changed my blog up and went over to Wordpress, thinking it would be what I needed, a fresh start. But, I just didn't have it in me to learn a new system, so I came back to Blogger. For some reason, I'm motivated to get my blog going again, so I guess it was worth the kick in the pants I needed. I enjoyed this post and getting to know you better!
