Happy October

 Hi Friends.
Happy October.

I would have been here sooner but....
have I mentioned that technology sometimes sucks.
 Ok,  maybe not all technology,
but this computer sure does!!

I've figured out what I need for Christmas,
A laptop that doesn't lose wifi connection every 5 seconds.
A laptop that has an actually photo drive that doesn't require me shifting photos from one file to another.
A laptop that doesn't get stuck on system updates and require me to reset the entire system resulting in the loss of  the files and photos that were a pain in the ass to get here in the first place.

That's what I am asking Santa for!

So, while I still have a wifi connection I will catch up.
We are getting remnants of hurricane Matthew today.  The cool wind is blowing against the house so hard that it sounds like mid winter out there.

Its the perfect day for the pot of ham and cabbage that is cooking.

I thought that we would hang out in the kitchen today and
I'll show you a few things that have been going on.

I've got our October menu hanging up and I've been having a good time creating some spooking dinners.

I am moving a little slow this year..
my friends always compliment me and say that I do so much,
but I honestly feel like I am slacking off.

This new Pioneer Woman  dutch oven has made fall cooking so much fun.
I've never owned a dutch oven before  ( how crazy is that!)
This thing is not only beautiful,  but it is a heavy enamel coated cast iron.
You can use it on both the stove top and inside of the oven.

Just like the rest of the house,  I kept the Halloween/fall décor to a minimum in the kitchen.   I still love to decorate,  but it seems that my taste is changing.
Or maybe its just that my family have all grown up..
I don't feel the need to decorate every single space anymore.

Of course,  I change the table décor often.

And I have a ton of pumpkins sitting around

The jars in our spice cabinet are filled with black and orange sweets.
For some reason, This makes me very happy.

Later this week I'll take you on a tour of the sun porch.
Yes,  it's decorated with all of the creepy decorations.
The porch theme this year,
Death Do Us Part.
And there is a wedding going on.

My soup is done..

I am going to take my spooky bowl and sit in front of the halmark channel for a while...   maybe all day.  : )

Have a great day.

I hope that you all are having a wonderful October.
xo
