Happy Mardi Gras!!!

Happy Mardi Gras friends.
.. or should I say happy fat Tuesday.
After all of the taste testing and spoon licking that I've done this morning,  I totally understand the term Fat Tuesday!!

King cake.. No, I did not bake it.

But I did put together a Cajun Shrimp and Rice Casserole that I found on pinterest.

I'm excited  hungry for tonight's Mardi Gras dinner,  I even whipped up a few purple deviled eggs

I am also excited for Lent.
I'm still trying to figure out what I will give up/begin during this holy season.
The #1 thing on my list is to stop eating in my car.
That means.. no more fast food!!

I would also like to attend church more often
and get more outdoor exercise.

What about you guys..  will you be giving up anything or maybe starting something new?

While I prepare to put this casserole in the oven,  I will leave you all with some old pictures from our New Orleans trip a few years ago.
Such a cool town.

Have a great night!!!!

  1. Happy Mardi Gras to you!!!

And Happy Mardi Gras dinner!!! It looks as if it will be delicious. :-)

We don't do anything for Mardi Gras, Fat Tuesday, etc. Nor do we "do Lent" anymore. But I wish you well, with whatever you plan on, for this year.

No more eating in car, and thus, fast food, sounds like a wonderful plan, for YOU! It has to improve your health!!! :-)

    Happy Eve of March, too!

  2. Happy Mardi Gras!!!
    Your dinner looks amazing!
We have some jambalaya cooking now, and my daughter is going to make some cornbread.
I am planning on more prayer and more time at Adoration this Lent.
    Have a cozy evening, : )

  3. Oh honey, you made me HUNGRY! Shrimp is my FAVE! Enjoy your day dear friend, Happy Mardi Gras!

  4. I am hungry now....lovely day love Ria x ❤️

  5. Leslie, Re: your comment on my post.... Perhaps you used a big, fancy teeth guard???

When I had to try a teeth guard at night, simply got the little plastic things, which HS kids use, as teeth guards. Very light. Do the heat and mold to one's teeth. Pop it in at night. And it didn't bother me, actually.

Just a thought, if it could help you.... Until you get "brave" and visit your dentist!!!! -grin-

  6. Looking yummy!
We have been so busy being sick, haven't thought
too much about "giving anything up." I'd give this cold crud
up in a heartbeat for sure.

    Happy Friday!

  7. A little late. Great post and I love all good food, Leslie! I remember one time when we were in New Orleans and I went into that Voodoo Shop and some woman bought a large doll and a lot of pins because her husband was divorcing her and she wanted to put a curse on him. I didn't stay in there very long. Have a great week!
