Made with Love ~ cookies and bloggers
Being back on the blogs is so wonderfully inspiring.
Those who have never been here just don't get it.
Recently I have been cleaning out my blog reading list.
Oh my goodness... there were so many.
It's been more then 10 years since I started collecting blogs to read and the list of blogs that I was following was in the hundreds.
I found that having a list so long was making it difficult for me to keep up with everyone who was still current.
So I started going through and cleaning up the list.
Sadly, so many of my favorite bloggers have abandoned their blogs for years now. It makes you wonder what happened to them.
Did they, like me, just get lazy and found an outlet in social media?
Did their lives become too busy?
Or did something else happen...
One of my absolute favorite bloggers has been missing for about 5 years. The last time we privately spoke she told me that she was battling bladder cancer and that she didn't want to "contaminate" her beautiful blog with the ugly sickness. Eventually her blog and our emails just stopped and was left thinking the worst. To this day, I still wonder what happened to her and I still visit her abandoned blog for inspiration. Beautiful Kary, if you can hear me out there, you will always be my blog goddess!!!
And then there are some of you who just keep on chugging along.
You words and ideas never disappoint and I am in awe of your commitment. The recipes, decorations, stories of your family.. they never get old.
You inspire my life and creativity like no other outlet .
while this post was started to share Sally and my Valentines cookies.. it has completely morphed into something else.
I just want to say, thank you to all of the wonderful (real life) bloggers out there who have inspired me for years.
Y'all are my hero's!!
xo
Good Morning, You and Sally have been busy and the cookies look delicious! Just this week, I learned that a dear blogging friend passed away after suffering a stroke. It makes me so sad. I have had 3 precious blog friends to pass away over the years.
ReplyDeleteI hope you guys enjoy a wonderful weekend and happy Valentine's Day!
Glad you are back! Love the heart cookies :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you're back at it, Leslie! I always enjoy reading your posts and admiring your creativity. I too wonder what has happened to some bloggers since I started close to 8 years ago. The cookies look great!
ReplyDeleteYour cookies look great! Scrolled down and what do I see? Ack!!! A puppy! No doubt your hands are full-enjoy:@)
ReplyDeleteLovely post....
ReplyDeleteI have blogged "forever," but at different places.
Can't look at those cookies very long. I have to eat Gluten Free. And I am staying away from as much added sugar, as is possible.
Think it will be Champagne, on Valentine's Day! :-)
Happy alentine's day love Ria x ❤️❤️❤️
ReplyDeleteHello!
ReplyDeleteI am visiting from another blog, and am so glad I stopped by!
I have several blogger friends who no longer post...
And I miss them.
It is nice to make new friends!
Have a cozy evening. : )
Hi Leslie, I came back to check out the link for the dollhouse post, and this post caught my eye. Just want to say that YOU are one of my inspirations for blogging. I completely understand how we come and go sometimes with posting, but I'm always glad to see you back. Your blog is a celebration of holidays and seasons, what life should be. There are a few bloggers that I used to connect with a lot that no longer post. Just a few weeks ago, I happened to meet up with one on instagram. A happy reunion!
