simple joys blogging
I started blogging about 15 years ago right after my mother passed away. I accidentally bumped into some AOL Journals while searching and reading stories on how to deal with the loss of my mom and I was hooked. My first journal brought me many friendships that, even though many of their blogs no longer exist, we still maintain friendships on a personal level.
Since then I've had two other blogs. The decade old Spoonful of Everything was my first on Blogger and today's Dandelion Sprinkles the second. I have always enjoyed blogging... something about it makes me feel all nesty.
However, since the dynamics of our lives is always changing, sometimes I find it difficult to find things to blog about.
Then I go back to my roots and browse through my old blog books.
Up until a few years ago, I always had my blogs printed into nice hardback books that my family can enjoy.
As I browse through our history I realize that I didn't always have something fancy to blog about. Most of the time I just posted about simple joys of my day.
Those days when warm sunshine settled on my skin. Snowball fights and pizza nights. Bunnies and soup and glitter and lunch dates...
Looking back, I found that blogging about nothing was way more
important then not blogging at all.
And quite honestly, I love reading about those "small days" the most!
My goal for this new year is to take my blog back to its roots.
Back to the simple joys .
Thank you to all of my old friends who have stuck it out with me through out the years and to all of the new friends that I have made more recently. You all inspire me to be a better person.
Happy New Blogging Year!!!
Simple joys are the best! Honestly, those are the post/blogs that I'm drawn to. Looking forward to coming along as you get back to your roots.
ReplyDeleteSo happy to be able to read along as you share the cozy, simple joys here.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful, cozy New Year!
That is so neat! How did you get them printed? PLEASE tell me who you used to put your blog posts in book form. I would appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteOn the ones I've read about, the end product was pretty bad, but yours look really nice and without mistakes.
Happy New Year!
Kristin
Hi Kristen. I always use Blurb to print my books. They are sometimes expensive but you can always find a coupon code to help. I've even used them to print my own magazine and cookbooks. ; )
DeleteThank You! I'll have to look them up.
DeleteKristin.. I wanted to tell you that I have started a new book on blurb and since it's been a few years, the format is very different - used to be much easier. Hopefully they still do good quality.
DeleteWhat a great idea to print your blog posts into a journal...after all most blogs are a journey and I love reading what others are thinking. Happy New Year! Janice

this year.

I've been nostalgic about my old blogging days as well. With all of life's changes, I've felt a bit at odds about what to blog about. Like you, I've been going through my blog and realizing that the ordinary days are things I enjoy reading about most, so my goal is to get back to that, too! I have one book of blog posts that I published that covers the time I had kids at home. Time to work on Volume II!
